TechBridge has selected CEFGA as one of five Georgia nonprofits to receive a 2019 Dream Big Technology Grant. TechBridge arms nonprofits on the frontline of alleviating the causes of poverty with technology that will allow them to expand the impact of their missions. For CEFGA the grant will help create a cloud-based job board to better connect graduates of its Construction Ready training programs with quality construction companies seeking new talent.
“We are extremely excited to have been selected for TechBridge’s Dream Big award,” said CEFGA President and CEO Scott Shelar.
As a partner at CEFGA’s Westside Works location, TechBridge and CEFGA had already indirectly and directly collaborated together through the “no closed doors” initiative of CHRIS 180 on the Westside.
Nonprofit staff, boards and volunteer advisors often brainstorm great ideas, but lack the resources to follow through. Thanks to the generosity of TechBridge donors, $94,000 was raised for the Dream Big Technology Grants. A panel of Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers and Foundation leaders awarded the grant funds. In addition to CEFGA, the other grant recipients are organizations with missions in child abuse prevention, youth shelters, pro bono legal assistance for immigrants, and health and wellness for women.
