Get to know CEFGA

CEFGA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, created in 1993 as the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia. We were founded by leading construction presidents and CEOs who recognized a need for quality construction skills training in Georgia. Skilled labor was then—and remains now—a primary need of the construction industry.

Today, CEFGA is a thriving organization supported by hundreds of leading construction companies, trade associations, including our General Partner, AGC Georgia, and other organizations throughout the state.

CEFGA has realized vital talent pipelines by cultivating a long-term workforce with youth through our K12 Pipeline and CareerExpo, while simultaneously addressing immediate labor shortages with adult Construction Ready participants who are screened, trained, drug-free and ready to work.

K12 Pipeline
CEFGA is the largest NCCER Accredited Training Organization in the state. Our K12 Pipeline partners with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) to provide support and services to skilled trade construction programs statewide with 17,000 students. The K12 Pipeline seeks to elevate and expand Georgia’s skilled trade programs with the goals of growing a sustainable workforce for the construction industry and helping Georgia students build a rewarding career path.

CareerExpo
The CEFGA CareerExpo gives employers a way to engage with young people and connect with their future workforce. By linking students directly to professionals in the areas of construction, utility contracting, highway contracting, electrical contracting, mechanical contracting, energy, mining and more, CEFGA gets young people excited about the industry and helps ensure the new generation is aware of career opportunities in construction. The event includes the SkillsUSA State Championships, a competition that gives students to test their skills in a number of construction-related disciplines. These events have become increasingly successful, drawing a record 8,600-plus attendees in 2019.

Construction Ready
CEFGA delivers direct construction training and placement services through our nationally recognized Construction Ready programs, currently offered at four locations in metro Atlanta. This four-week curriculum promotes the construction industry as a career by training and placing entry-level workers. Earning up to eight industry-recognized credentials, graduates of Construction Ready are drug free, trained, credentialed and ready to work. Construction Ready PLUS, a 16-week curriculum, allows working graduates to further their education and advance their careers by earning additional credentials.

CEFGA puts people to work in the construction industry. We exist to create success stories. They are “THE WHY” that drives CEFGA and all that we do as an organization!
